The Truth
If you are still reading this you are probably thinking to yourself; "I want a new marriage but there is no way it can be with my current spouse. You just don't know our situation." Honestly you are right, we don't know your specific situation but we are going to look at many of the major causes of divorce and we simply ask that you take an honest look at our list and see if anything rings true. To begin lets look at five of the most common causes of divorce.
Top 5 Reasons for Divorce
- Infidelity
- Communication Breakdown
- Financial Trouble
- Abuse (physical, emotional, psychological)
- Goals and life dreams change
All of these reasons are serious and can all lead to a very unhealthy marriage. Many of them go hand and hand and most of them point to some sort of communication breakdown at some point. The real question is; How did we get here and what can we do to go back? Only you can answer how you got to this point, but as for getting back on the right track there are lots of things that you can do. Check out the links below for more information on ways to avoid divorce.

The Mistake, The Future:
Lots of people say things like; In my first marriage I was too young, or I wasn't ready, or it was just a mistake of my youth, and that now I am ready to commit to someone new when I find the right person. The truth is that the divorce rate only rises when we look at second or third marriages. That means that you are more likely to divorce again than for the second or third time to “be the charm.” According to Enrichment Journal on the divorce rate in America:- The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%
- The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%
- The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%
What Next?
So you've tried everything. Maybe you bought a book, spent some time on the internet researching marriage and divorce, maybe you even went to counseling but you still want or need more. Well then we invite you to join us Starting May 8th as we begin our series about marriage called “I want a new marriage.” We will take a look at marriages from God's point of view and talk about how that relates to our world today. For more information about the series or about our church head on over to www.visalianaz.org or find us on facebook @ facebook.com/visalianaz.Oh NO, NOT a bunch of Christian Know-it-all's
Nope not us. We are not perfect. We all struggle. While it is true that the divorce rates for Christians are roughly the same as non Christians, studies also show that couples who have the support and friendships at a local church and attend regularly, are significantly less likely to end up in divorce. This means that we all have something to gain here. The good news is that we are not going to give you all we know, but we are going to give you all that God has said about marriage and how wonderful it can be, as well as what he says about divorce.
You will NOT be judged, you will not be talked about, but you will be loved.
